Microneedling is a professional skin-rejuvenation treatment that uses ultrafine needles to create controlled microchannels in the skin. This stimulates collagen and elastin, helping to improve texture, tone, scarring and fine lines. It is one of the most effective non-invasive treatments for overall skin renewal.
Most clients describe microneedling as mildly uncomfortable rather than painful. A topical numbing cream is applied before treatment to ensure comfort. Any sensation is usually short-lived and fades quickly after the session.
A typical microneedling appointment lasts around 45–60 minutes, depending on the area being treated and whether additional steps such as LED therapy or specialist serums are included.
Many clients notice improvements after one or two sessions. However, a course of three to six treatments spaced four to six weeks apart can provide the best results for concerns such as scarring, pigmentation and deeper lines.
Microneedling has minimal downtime. You may experience redness, warmth or skin tightness for 24–48 hours. Most clients return to their normal activities the same day while avoiding makeup, excessive heat and exercise for the recommended period.
Initial results can appear within a few days, with continued improvements developing over the following weeks as new collagen forms. Full results typically develop around four to six weeks after each treatment session.
Microneedling is suitable for most skin types, including darker skin tones. However, active acne, eczema, rosacea flare-ups or skin infections may require treatment to be postponed. A professional consultation will confirm whether the treatment is suitable for your skin.
